If you are planning to have a pool installed on your property, congratulations. You’re making an investment that will not only bring you years of pleasure and fun, you also substantially increase the value of your home. But there are a lot of considerations you’ll have to take into account when choosing the company what will design and install your new backyard oasis.
Ask the Right Questions
You should never go into making this type of decision lightly. You’ll want to be as confident in possible when making your final choice – and asking the right questions will be a major factor in building that confidence.
First of all, ask the contractor how many pools his or her company has installed in the past year. Then, ask for references from those customers. If the contractor installed 10 pools but only has five customer references, that’s not a good sign. If the person you’re talking to refuses to provide references due to “privacy concerns,” walk away and look for someone else.
Also, find out if the company is certified and licensed. You’ll also want to know if the company is fully insured. You don’t want to take the risk that your home insurance will have to cover any type of unforeseen accident that may occur.
Another good idea will be to talk to any friends, family members or co-workers who may have recently had a pool installed. Ask them if they would recommend the contractor to work on your property.
